The A.C.T. Master of Fine Arts Program presents
by Lachlan Philpott
Directed by Becca Wolff
Welcome to San Francisco, the most networked city in the world, and tonight, maybe the loneliest. From a marijuana dispensary to the Mission, from the back seat of a cab to the back room of a Folsom Street frolic club, twentysomethings reach out for a connection. A lesbian stood up on Tinder. An Uber driver working late nights. Expectant parents considering how to raise a child in the city. A homeless girl dancing in the street. A Mormon tech worker fresh from Utah. Guys on Grindr hoping for a hookup. Explore the dark underside of San Francisco’s high-tech dream in this vibrant new production.
promiscuous/cities by Australian playwright Lachlan Philpott was presented as a staged reading at the 2016’s New Strands Festival in collaboration with A.C.T.’s M.F.A. Program actors.
Performances take place in A.C.T.’s Costume Shop Theater, 1117 Market Street, San Francisco
